But better late than never, right?  Solar Winds RC1 is in testing, and finally looking like the solid, fun game we wanted to ship.  It’s admittedly a five to ten minute distraction, which was our goal.

So the obvious question is – when does it hit the App store?  Well, the not-so-obvious answer is “We don’t know.”

Not because it isn’t ready to go – we expect to be done this afternoon in fact.  But because we aren’t sure exactly how long the process wil take to hit iTunes.  Since this is our first release out the door, we’re going to feel our way through the release process.

Having said that, we have a pretty good idea of how it works, Apple’s documentation is pretty solid, and at least one of us is smart enough to follow directions – so we are hopeful it will hit quickly, once approved.

Also worth noting: we have four other projects currently in the queue for a quick release, so keep an eye on these pages – we should have news updates on each of those in the coming days and weeks.  They are all looking like more of the fun, five minute distractions from the business day!

But there is some news.  We’re actively looking for developers.  We have a new game under development (Our working name is Orion – early in the process at the moment) that could be a new concept.  We’re playing with WebOS – so expect to start seeing some Palm Pre games in the pipeline!  And finally – finally! – our Apple Developer Program membership was approved.

That’s it (That’s not enough?) for the moment!

The interesting thing to this story is you have to understand my background – I’ve worked as a technology consultant for more than ten years now, and when someone is looking for an explanation, it’s probably second nature for me to ramble on for some random length of time, highlighting the business and technical factors that lead to the grand convergence that we see before us.  Cost considerations, business plans, marketing strategies and cash-flow analysis all factor into this sort of decision and get weighed against the technical benefits and limitations of ant and all factor involved in this sort of thing.  I could ramble on about this sort of thing for pages and pages.

The truth is, we wanted a short URL that sounds cool.
